Any or all of our horses can be sponsored.  Sponsorship allows us to keep the horses that we rescue here with quality care until a good home can be found for them.

We are frequently contacted by people who love horses but cannot own one themselves, so they choose one of our horses and make donations of a specific amount regularly to go towards the care for that particular horse. By becoming a Sponsor, you are making a commitment to provide for the horse of your choice, on a regular basis, so that we can invest the funds we would have normally spent on that horse for other necessary items, products or services. If that horse gets adopted, then any monies donated can be applied to another horse.

In order to give you a better idea of the monthly costs involved, we've included these calculations...

Costs of Maintaining Proper Nutrition for a Pregnant Mare

  • $70 for grain;

  • $75 for quality hay;

  • $40 for vitamins and supplements;

  • $18 for wormer (Strongid C2x - given daily)...

(Costs for other horses would be slightly less, as they don't require quite as much grain as a pregnant/lactating mare would.)

$200 sponsorship per month (or) $2400 sponsorship annually would maintain proper nutrition for a mare (their diet stays about the same while nursing, due to the calories they burn during this time) and these costs don't include...

Veterinarian fees-

  • Farm Call  - $52.00 (if on weekend or evening for emergency, add $50)

  • Examinations - $45.00 (in addition to the farm call and/or emergency costs)

  • Vaccines - Annual cost approx. $170.00 (to include FluVac6, *Strangles, *West Nile and *Rabies [*requires booster every 6 months] farm calls and exams would be additional)

$30 sponsorship per month (or) $360 sponsorship annually could aid in maintaining a healthy horse.

  • Farrier fees ($30-$35 for trimming of each horse every 6 weeks)

$27 sponsorship per month (or) $325 sponsorship annually could maintain a horse's hooves.

You can see that with all of these expenses how important it is to have sponsors to help keep us running.  Every dollar donated to us makes a difference... 100% of all donations go to the benefit of the horses that we have available for adoption and with any luck, a few dollars left over to put towards helping others in need.
